19M, planning a 30-day solo Europe trip for May-June 2027 on $4000.

Title: 19-Year-Old Plans a 30-Day Solo Europe Adventure on $4,000: Route, Budget, and Safety Questions

I’m gearing up for my second solo trip and would appreciate candid feedback on my itinerary and budget.

Background: I traveled solo to Italy in August 2025 (Florence, Venice, Rome) over 8 days, spending about $1,340 in total, flight included ($400). I stayed in party hostels, enjoyed street food, and thrived on the social scene. My biggest overspend came from local transport (missed buses and vaporetti) and a few sit-down dinners.

Budget: $4,000 all-in, with roughly $650 allocated for flights. I’ll be carrying a single carry-on backpack, staying in hostel dorms, and aiming for street-food meals. I’m skipping Eurail because most legs are cheaper via Ryanair or Wizz.

Proposed route (order depends on flight deals):
– Portugal: Lisbon (and possibly Madeira for a hike)
– Spain: Barcelona
– France: Nice for 2–3 nights, plus 1 night in Paris
– Monaco: Day trip on Friday, June 4 for F1 practice from the standing area
– Czechia: Prague
– Croatia: Split and Dubrovnik
– Greece: Athens plus one island

Notes: Italy is excluded since I’ve been, and I’m omitting Austria and Switzerland due to cost. I’m considering Budapest as an alternative. I plan to depart after May 9, with Nice locked in for June 3–4.

Questions I’m hoping to answer:
– Is seven countries in about 30 days (roughly four days per place) too ambitious?
– Should I prioritize Greece in late May/June, or devote more time to Croatia?
– Is $4,000 a realistic budget, or are people typically underbudgeting?
– What would you add or skip to optimize this trip?
– Any solo-safety tips or scam avoidance advice for Barcelona, Paris, and Athens?

Thanks in advance for any insights or suggestions.
