We are 3 middle age ladies who like to travel together and looking for our next trip.

Traveling Trio Seeking Our Next Adventure: A Fresh Destination Guide

We are three middle-aged friends who love to travel together. While we enjoy trips with our families, we often save certain destinations for just the three of us, blending our interests and exploring places that suit our shared pace and tastes.

What we each love
– One of us adores pure nature and scenic experiences.
– The other two of us enjoy a mix of museums, cuisine, shopping, and outdoor scenery.
– We’re not big on mass-market shopping, but we appreciate wandering through local shops—antique stores, thrift and junk shops, crafts, bakeries, and locally made goods rather than luxury brands.

Travel logistics and preferences
– Our home base is Boston, and we’re aiming for direct flights to minimize travel time.
– We’d prefer daytime temperatures in the 55–70°F range, avoiding extreme heat or cold.
– We’re comfortable driving in urban areas (Boston, NYC) and even in international destinations like Lisbon, and we often rent cars. However, we aren’t seeking a road-trip-style vacation; we’re happy to drive from the airport to lodging and use a car for day trips.
– We’re open to destinations within an eight-hour flight from Boston. We’ve also considered departures from NYC when direct flights from there open up options that aren’t available from Boston, but ideally we’d keep departures simple and direct.
– Potential destinations include smaller European cities we may not have explored yet, as well as possibilities in the Pacific Northwest or Northern California. We’ve enjoyed places like Midcoast Maine, Dordogne, Paris, Vermont, and Porto, among others.

What we’re looking for
– Destination ideas that balance nature, culture, food, and authentic local shopping experiences.
– Places with direct or easily reachable flight options from Boston (preferably direct).
– Cities or regions offering manageable day-to-day exploration without intense heat or cold, and with plenty of charming, walkable neighborhoods and easy access to local experiences.
– Itineraries that cater to a trio with varied interests but a shared love of discovering museums, eateries, shops, and nature.

If you’ve recently visited or researched destinations that fit this vibe—especially markets, bakeries, antique shops, crafts, and scenic natural beauty—please share your recommendations. We’d love thoughtful options with a mix of culture, cuisine, and outdoor charm that are travel-friendly for a three-person group of friends traveling together.
