For those who have been to French Polynesia: which islands did you actually like more than the islands of French Polynesia?

Title: Which Islands Have You Found More Impressive Than French Polynesia?

If you’ve traveled widely and visited multiple island destinations—Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Raiatea, Huahine, Taha’a, the Tuamotus, the Marquesas, and beyond—I’d love to hear your perspectives. French Polynesia is undeniably stunning, but are there other island destinations you personally found more remarkable overall?

I’m not simply seeking the best beaches or the clearest lagoons. I’m interested in the overall formula that makes an island exceptional: dramatic landscapes, isolation, relatively intact ecosystems, endemic wildlife and plant life, unusual geology, jungles and mountains, pristine waters, remote beaches, intriguing villages and cultures, and the sense of being genuinely distant from the rest of the world.

I’m especially drawn to places that still feel wild, quiet, and under-the-radar, rather than those that are heavily developed or crowded. So, if you’ve visited French Polynesia and also explored other remote or unusual islands, which ones stood out as more spectacular, unique, or memorable to you?

If you had to pick just one island or island group anywhere in the world to place above French Polynesia, what would it be and why?

I’m seeking suggestions beyond the obvious picks, so feel free to include lesser-known or obscure destinations.
