Best Time to Pick Up a National Rental Car at MIA on January 1

I’m planning to rent a midsize SUV with all-wheel drive from National Emerald Reserve at Miami International Airport on January 1, 2027. I won’t be flying in—I’ll already be in Miami.

My main objective is to have the widest possible selection within my reserved category. I can choose my pickup time, but I’m struggling to find reliable information about how vehicle availability changes throughout the day on New Year’s Day.

From your experience at MIA or with National, would you recommend picking up the car in the morning, afternoon, or evening to maximize the selection? Has anyone encountered specific patterns around New Year’s holiday travel?
