Are travel vloggers lying about last-minute cheap flights or am I doing something wrong?

How to Score Cheaper International Flights: Practical Strategies for Last-Minute Deals

In early June, I’m planning a trip to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Like many travelers, I typically search for flights using Skyscanner, leveraging the “Everywhere” search and flexible dates to snag the best fares. Even now, prices remain relatively high. I’ve noticed travel vlogs that claim to book flights just 1–2 weeks before departure and still find very cheap prices. Are these stories exaggerations or misrepresentations, or am I missing something in my approach? I don’t have a credit card, so I can’t use points or credit-card offers; my strategy relies solely on finding low fares.

If you have practical advice or proven strategies for booking cheaper international flights, especially without relying on points, I’d greatly appreciate your guidance.
