Netherlands for the second time. Need suggestions.

Title: Planning a Second Trip to the Netherlands: Fresh Ideas for an April 2027 Visit

With four nights in Amsterdam and two in Rotterdam, I’m returning to the Netherlands for a second time. My initial draw this visit is a heavy metal concert in Rotterdam during a week I have off work, so I booked the tickets and built the trip around that.

On my previous trip, I explored a lot of the Netherlands beyond Amsterdam and Rotterdam, including The Hague, Delft, Leiden, Volendam/Edam/Marken, Otterlo/Arnhem, Haarlem, Hoorn/Enkhuizen, and Utrecht. I’m planning to visit in April 2027, which means Keukenhof will be in bloom as a day trip from Amsterdam.

Beyond Keukenhof, I’m unsure what else to include. Should I revisit familiar spots, or are there towns I haven’t mentioned that deserve a visit? I’m open to all kinds of ideas that could inspire my itinerary.

A few specifics to consider:
– I’m traveling solo and will not have a car.
– I’m seeking suggestions for a well-rounded itinerary that fits a second visit to a compact country like the Netherlands.
– I’d love perspectives on how others plan a repeat trip to the Netherlands and what must-see or hidden gems they’d prioritize.

If you have recommendations for day trips, towns, museums, neighborhoods, food experiences, or unique experiences that pair well with a Rotterdam concert and a spring tulip season, I’d love to hear them. There are no right or wrong answers—tell me what you’d do in my shoes.
